Rope Access Supervisor

The Level 3 course (SZP) for rope access supervisors is aimed for experienced and long-standing active height workers. The focus of this necessary administrative step is on deepening the regulatory aspects of the rope access techniques. Designed for industrial climbers in leading positions and with a strong interest in extended rope access technologies.

Course program

The course takes place from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 hrs. 

Course content

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations and subsections of Rope Access and fall-danger zones highlighting the most important points, in particular the prerequisites for employed personal.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the construction-site preparation and operational planning.
  • Knowledge of the requirements to operate a construction-site through the use of rope access working procedures and proper supervision.
  • Detailed knowledge of the preparation of a risk analysis, the ability to write a detailed risk assessment, and prepare operational instructions.
  • Ability to conduct general and specific instruction sessions.
  • Detailed knowledge of material and equipment, their proper selection, and specific characteristics; in particular the components and auxiliary devices.
  • Knot tying principles.
  • Knowledge of fall physics and safety techniques
  • Knowledge of medical aspects
  • Rescue planning and on-site implementation, descending and ascending rescue procedures, entry and rescue in confined spaces or difficult structures. Rescue over transfer points and rope extensions, access with diagonal rope systems and rescue from diagonal rope systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of pulley systems
  • Fremdsicherung, Vorstiegstechniken
  • Safe use of PPE against falling.


Examination
On the 5th day of the course, the theoretical knowledge will be verified by means of a written examination.

The reliable application of the course content is inspected by a FISAT certifier and verified by means of a practical examination and rated according to a points system.

Equipment

Besides the basic equipment (Level 1), the following additional equipment is required:

  • 1 additional descender (EN 12841)
  • Shock absorber (we recommend Petzl Absorbica-Y)
  • 1 additional rescue capture pulley


Our personal protective equipment (PPE) is available for hire during the training week with a cost of 50 Euro (plus VAT).  We will deduct the rental fee if you wish to purchase the equipment from us and will be discounted from the total purchase price.

If you have your own rope access equipment, you can also use it during the course. 
In this case you must have a valid proof of professional inspection (not older than 12 months) and in compliance with the BGG 906 principles. (We will be happy to provide you with this service, please make sure to send us your equipment at least 3 work days before the course begins).

Admission requirements

  • Minimum age: 21
  • A valid certification of first-aid training no older than 24 months old. First-aid certificates are only accepted when issued by institutions authorized by the DGUV 1 regulation (1x9 hours) (German Employers Liability Insurance Association)
  • The candidate must certify having undergone a medical check-up suitable for performing this activity (the medical statement must not be older than 36 months for candidates up to 49 years old and not older than 18 months for candidates 50 years or older). Only oc-cupational physicians are authorized to issue such a medical statement.
  • Candidates must have successfully passed the examination Rope Access Technician Level 2. Level 2 qualification may not be expired for more than 6 months.
  • At least 250 days of work experience with the qualification as Rope Access Technician must be proven.  They must be documented in the FISAT’s Personal Safety Logbook for Rope Access as it serves exclusively as a proof for continuous work experience.
  • The examination or the last refresher course in Level 2 must not be older than 18 months.

NOTE:
If the candidate can prove that he resides outside Germany or his place of employment is based outside Germany: 

A first aid certificate issued by an organization from the candidate’s country of residence will be accepted if in English or German and if the duration of training is stated. 
Medical Statements from any physician will be accepted if in English or German. The FISAT form “Information about physical constitution” available for training companies will also be accepted.

We recommend purchasing an Accident Insurance.
The training will take place with a minimum of 5 persons. 

Once registered, you will receive a registration confirmation and an invoice. The course fee must be payed 14 days prior the first day of the course. 

If the payment is not made on time regarding our general terms and conditions, your participation to the course will be cancelled. 
The cancellation by the client within seven days before the start of the course, will be charged with 50% of the course fee.
In case of serious illness or accident please inform us immediately via telephone (+49 (0)30-44 31 81-6) or e-Mail before the start of the course and send along the required medical certificates.

Training Hall (practice)
The training hall is located in the Storkower Straße 115 c, 10407 Berlin.

Seminar room (theory)
The seminar room is located in the Storkower Strasse 115, 10407 Berlin, room no. 318, 3rd floor at Steremat AFS.

By car
Coming from Landsberger Allee from the city centre, turn left at the intersection (y-junction) Storkower Straße and follow the road for about 1 km. At the last intersection (y-junction) (corner Dänisches Bettenlager) turn right onto Storkower Straße (same name as the main road) and drive to the end of the street, then turn right and pass through the office buildings. Behind the 4th building of the company AucoTeam, turn left, and at the end of street you will find the training center.

By public transportation
The S-Bahn station Landsberger Allee is located about 900 m away from the training center. The station can be reached with the following means of public transportation:S-Bahn: S41, S42, S8, S9Bus: 156Tram: M5, M6, M8. Then please follow the instructions above to arrive to the training center.
